GibbsCAM
Tombstone Management System & Machine Simulation
GibbsCAM Tombstone Management System enables
you to:
- Lay-out multi-part setups
- Generate multi-part programs
- Automatically create program offsets
Tombstone machining provides an effective way of moving
more material through a machine tool while minimizing human intervention. With
the GibbsCAM TMS Option, the time it takes to position and program
multi-part setup on a tombstone fixture is greatly reduced.
The GibbsCAM TMS option allows the user to
effectively duplicate piece part programs and set-ups across multiple
locations and sides of a tombstone fixture. The overall time
required to create multi-part processes are significantly reduced
using TMS, sometimes as much as a tenth of the previous methods.
GibbsCAM
TMS was specifically designed to streamline the programming
of multiple parts on tombstone fixtures. The user interactively
positions the parts on the faces of the tombstone using GibbsCAMs
graphical orientation tools. Setup parameters are then provided
to the system to define cutting strategies. The system then
automatically generates the corresponding offsets and rotations
necessary to machine the various parts according to their location
and machining strategies.
Using GibbsCAM TMS, the programmer defines
the placement of parts on tombstones along with master part programs. Different
Parts can be machined on each side of the tombstone. Once placed,
the system then creates a representation example and offsets the
programs for all similar parts on the tombstone.
The results can then be viewed using the
GibbsCAM Machine Simulation option to avoid any programming
mistakes which would be costly errors at the machine tool.
TMS requires Machine Simulation Module.
- Create machine tool models
- Simulate motion of NC programs
- Detect collisions between machine tool, part,
- fixtures and tooling
New Machine Simulation for MTM
for Multi-Tasking Machines
GibbsCAM MTM Machine Simulation is even a more important tool that employs software to protect your large investment by avoiding costly crashes and improving your complex processes.
MTM Machine Simulation provides for:
- Checking of the rotation points of the turret(s)
- Locating and visualizing the tail stock and, or sub spindle
- Creating Tool Groups
- Setting accurate Turret positions, steps and angles
Use of Component Groups so that they can be gouge- checked against each other or used as a
Also available for Turning and Mill/Turn CNCs
5-axis simultaneous milling machine tools can also use the new Machine Simulation with GibbsCAM
GibbsCAM Machine Simulation uses models of
machine tools to simulate and validate the machining motion, verify
the NC program, check times and processes prior to actually running
the NC program and identifies possible collisions all off-line.
Users start by building an exact model of their specific
machine tool, assembling the various components and defining the
axes of motion. It is then setup with fixturing and tooling in the
same way the real machine tool would be configured on the shop floor.
GibbsCAM Machine Simulation has the capability
to allow a dry run of the part program motion to be validated off-line
minimizing or eliminating the time spent validating the program
on a machine tool. This saves time and money by avoiding costly
mistakes, avoiding damage to tooling and equipment or wasted materials.
GibbsCAM
Machine Simulation checks the machine tool motion as defined
by the CNC program validating it to ensure that collisions do not
occur. Full visualization control allows control of playback speed,
display of interferences and look-at/look-from locations. The
transparency of components can be modified to allow viewing angles
or sight lines not normally possible within the real environment. Even
looking straight down on the machine tool! GibbsCAM Machine Simulation
reduces prove-out time on the machine tool freeing them up to spend
more time cutting metal.
